Why Whitehorse?

As the capital city of the Yukon, Whitehorse is a hub for the entire Territory. People come to Whitehorse from the communities to work, shop, attend appointments and go to school. Our desire is to see Gospel-centered churches serving God throughout the Yukon, and we believe that the best place to start is by making disciples and planting a church in Whitehorse.

Whitehorse already has churches, so Why are you starting another church?

We are starting The Northern Collective because this is how we feel called to follow Jesus’ command in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Starting new churches follows the pattern of the apostles. The apostles made disciples who then started new churches.

Who is the Northern Collective for?

The people that Jesus called to himself were really diverse. He called men and women, the poor and the religious leaders, Jews and Gentiles. We pray that the Lord will allow The Northern Collective to reflect the diverse demographics of our city.

Where is the Northern Collective?

We gather each Sunday at 3:00pm on 302 Strickland Street.

What tools will the Northern Collective use to make disciples?

The Word of God, contained in the Bible, provides all the guidance we need to make disciples who live to His glory (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

Why the focus on discipleship?

Christians were not made to live alone apart from other believers. The Bible provides examples and instruction of believers equipping one another to live lives pleasing to Christ and we desire to be faithful to this model (Acts 2:44-47 and Titus 2:3-5).

How will you measure success?

It is our prayer that The Northern Collective will see members of our community come to know Christ, and that church members who already know Christ will grow in their love and knowledge of the Lord, exhibiting spiritual fruit.

We seek to be an autonomous, self-sufficient, and multiplying church. We pray that over the next few years the Lord would raise up Elders and ministry leaders in the church that reflect the community around us. In the long term, it is our desire to start new churches in communities throughout the Yukon and the world.

Who are you affiliated with?

We are affiliated with Mountainview Church, Fellowship Pacific, and C2C Collective

I want to become a member. Tell me more!

Excellent! We’d love to chat and can’t wait for the Lord to bring people of all backgrounds and gifting to our church.

Can I be part of the Northern Collective even though I can’t commit to membership?

Of course! We’re excited to have you join us. Come check out our services and let us know if you’d like to be involved in serving Christ through another capacity.
